Today folks where going to talk about game mechanics and the camarillas soft reset.
To go over some information in a previous post, A soft reset is where you keep your character but his xp is reduced or removed completely. Why would someone do a Soft reset verses a hard reset? Well in a soft reset, you keep the story that you progressed through in a hard reset it?s erasing the entire black board and starting fresh.
They are also resetting the member class system you no longer get 20, 20, 60 for each level of Member class you?ve attained in the camarilla now you get 10*MC for you starting characters. Th
They are lowering how much xp you can earn each month instead of 10 it?s becoming 8. This means characters will take longer to improve and grow. At this pace trying to relearn everything my character already had will take years?. Over cap experience points are now becoming quarterly you get the highest you?ve earned in the quarter vs a max of what you can get in the month.
As of today where 10 div 5 that means on your pull you have to get a 10 to get a success, and then every 5 after is another success (15, 20, 25 ect) I personally think it?s a good way to do it, as traditionally
10 is your first success in World of Darkness.
How ever come June 8th when the soft reset happens, it?s going to change to 8 div 3, so 8 is your first success and every 3 after is an additional.
So here?s what where going to look at Mechanics wise.
If you had occult 4 and due to the reset you had occult 3 that basically means you?ve lost some knowledge. So if that?s the case there going to be a few things to look at.
1. Is your character even going to know?
2. Will people with Trained Memory or Eidetic memory going to know something?s missing when they try and pull up this lost knowledge?
3. Will the Rote Know thy self [Guardian of the veil], report back problems?
I?d say your character could possibly know, but how are they going to find out everything is suddenly easier for them. Are the characters going to realize this? The two merits above allow people to be able to recall anything perfectly will they recognize somethings wrong? and are they going to know what? it?s going to get very tricky in these cases I?m looking forward to how the story telling staff handles it. I think the rote is likely going to report something being wrong, hows your character going to react? Are they going to be able to handle it well?

S.C.A.R.E is going on so no one?s really online, I?m dead tired and Jill?s already in bed and since the convention is going on. No one is really online cause the majority of the Camarilla members are at the convention or there busy doing other things because it?s a convention weekend. *Sigh*

On the upside, since no one?s about the Approvals database works. They really need to either break out the DB on multiple servers (decrease the load) or upgrade the server it sits on (I could have sworn they said they where doing this. But then that was YEARS ago).
Now I?m left awake (don?t want to be awake) and thinking which other GOTV players do I know out there?.. I want my status 3 for my character. However I?m also thinking of a new project, thou I doubt any one would use it? *shrugs* eh it happens.

Honestly, why is white wolf giving us a non wod book for free? I mean I would take the free book IF I actually played exalted. But since I can?t stand the system I?ll likely download it just in case someone convinces me to play. (Very Doubtful). I would have preferred a free WOD book, since I belong to the club that I pay for that charges me for the books need to play? But it?s still a free book for those that play exalted, if you do and your a Cammie enjoy! If you don?t ignore this.

The Dream is a joke for sure, this is good and there are some changes such as
Arcane XP being required for Gnosis improvement?

Hi folks
After some discussion with the ANSTs, there is widespread agreement to
implement the following approval levels for Gnosis after the reset.
Gnosis 6 & 7: High Approval
Gnosis 8 & 9: Top Approval
Gnosis 10: Global Approval
Guidance for storytellers for what to look for in a Gnosis application
should be published shortly. When I?ve written them.
In addition, after reset, there will be some additional restrictions
on the purchase of Gnosis. The basic draft proposal is listed below,
but this is still early days, so we?ve not finalised the process yet.
This would be sorted with a small PDF document, widely available,
giving the general criteria for gaining an ?Arcane Experience? point,
and some specific ones for each Order. These aren?t really experience
points as such, but ?achievement points? is also already taken, and I
haven?t thought of a better name for them yet.
Arcane ?Experience?
Arcane experience becomes not ?experience?, but a measure of how much
your character has developed and grown. A point could be awarded for;
- A significant in character research project (A Mysterium might
research and write an essay on the supernal imagery in Renaissance
paintings, for example)
- Taking a Legacy student and roleplaying through the mentoring process
- Taking a significant in character action to further the development
of your order structure / setting as per canon
- Notable involvement in a national or global plot
- Other sources, as per settings documents released by international
staff (We notice an aspect of canon is being under developed, so we
create a system to reward it).
- A few Order Specific items for each Order (so an Arrow will have a
different criteria for gaining some points than a Guardian or Ladder)
- Other stuff I?ve forgotten about
You would need a number of points equal to the level you?re developing
for each point of Gnosis over 5.

White Wolf?s Camarilla Fan club announces soft reset.

The camarilla fan club is a improvisational theater group or L.A.R.P. It allows people to play all sorts of interesting fun creatures like vampires, werewolves, mages, ect in a positive and safe environment.

A little while ago they announced a soft reset, pretty much yanking 60% of your characters XP off of there sheets. So if your new to wanting to do a larp it maybe the perfect time to join. If your all ready a member your likely as upset as I am.
