[Camarilla-announce] ALL CALL – AMST DPoM

Wednesday, January 20th, 2010

Members,

I would like to thank Derek Burrow for his time as AMST DPoM. Grad
school is a rough thing and it’s taking him away from our team (which
makes us all sad). However, real life always comes first and in this
case, we’re losing Derek to a good thing. Having said that, I am now
accepting applications for the AMST Dark Places on the Map position.

Job Description

The AMST Dark Places on the Map (DPotM) has responsibility for
ensuring that character history and in-chronicle activity in areas
other than official Camarilla affiliates or GIR are effectively
logged. In addition, they are responsible for maintaining an extensive
archive of information regarding “Dark Place” locations – including
ensuring that two players with overlapping character backgrounds are
put in touch, aiding with character background development, noting the
IC setup of various DPotM cities and locations, supporting venue
AMSTs, and helping players interact with “Dark Places” as easily and
productively as they might with their own VST.

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Development and maintenance of the Dark Place Wiki logging
historical and current chronicle events, plot links and personalities,
both PC and NPC, in all venues.
- Assisting players in development of character backgrounds including:
providing or confirming definition of Dark Place locations and IC
structures and facilitating PC ties based on geographical proximity.
- Acting in a “DST” type role for Dark Places, ensuring that IC events
proposed and run by venue AMSTs do not clash or otherwise threaten to
cause significant cross venue or real world difficulties.
- Ensuring that players (in terms of relevant IC knowledge) and venue
AMSTs (in terms of overall background and history) are fully prepared
for Dark Place based proxies.
- From time to time at venue AMST request to run proxies to Dark Place
locations.
- To provide global, national and regional storytelling staff relevant
information regarding “border” events or other issues of note.
- Strong organizational skills
- Storytelling experience
- Reliable email and 48hr response turnaround
- Ability to work with members and Storytellers at all levels of the
organization

The Dark Places Wiki is intended to be a detailed and
information-heavy tool and the AMST DPotM must be well prepared to
continue to develop and administer it as a central part of their role.
The AMST DPotM must be prepared for the fact that the role is
primarily an administration focus rather than storytelling, which is
the primary remit of venue AMSTs.

The hiring process will consist of two stages. The first step is the
basic application, which should be sent to Michelle Webb
(camarilla.mst at gmail.com) and Lesley Packel (amst.admin at
gmail.com) by 11:59 GMT, January 30th, and should include the
following:

*Name, Cam #, contact info
*Coordinator & local ST contact info
*Vision statement
*Proposed 6 month work plan
*Camarilla and relevant real life resume
*Three to five references (excluding NSTs, or Global officers, as
these will be asked for feedback separately)
*List of any disciplinary actions received in the last 2 years

The second stage involves an initial set of questions which will help
me decide the short list and a phone interview if necessary after
that.

Best of luck to everyone!

All-Call – US National Ombudsman

Thursday, May 21st, 2009

To begin I would like to thank Sara Mooney for her work as the second United
States Ombudsman. She notified this council this morning that due to
increasing demands of her current life and work, she cannot dedicate the
time that this position deserves. However, she has agreed to remain in the
post while an election for her replacement is conducted.

When you have the opportunity, please reach out to Sara and thank her for
her hard work over the past year.

***

At this point, I am announcing an all call for National Ombudsman:

The United States National Ombudsman (USNO) is the direct representative of
the membership on the Council and is responsible for communicating with
members and bringing widespread concerns, compliments, and criticisms to the
attention of the US Camarilla Council. Strong personal skills,
organizational ability, communication expertise, patience, reliable access
to email, ability to dedicate large amounts of time, and a willingness to
advocate for the members are all required to excel in this position.

The duties of the national Ombudsman are to be a representative voice of the
membership to the council and advocate for the membership.

The monthly status report is required so that the Camarilla Council and the
regional coordinators know what the USNO is doing. This report is due before
midnight (local time) on the 21st day of the following month. Unless the
USNO chooses to step down and relinquish their position early, a member
serves a two-year term as NO. At the end of this term, a new election is
held, though the same member may apply again. The NO may be removed from
office before their term expires through a referendum, or by a resolution of
the Camarilla Council.

The National Ombudsman is elected by a general vote of the membership. All
members in good standing in the US are eligible to vote in the election. The
election is administered by the Club Director.

Members wishing to submit an application for consideration should include
the following information in an email to clubdirector@white-wolf.com by June
1, 2008. Please cc Pearce Dreadin (pearce@tampabay.rr.com) on those emails.

Name
Camarilla membership number
Contact methods including address
E-mail
Telephone

Vision Statement: What would the applicant wish to do if he or she were in
the office?

Please note any disciplinary actions received within the last year.

Camarilla experience

Relevant Non-Camarilla experience–this may include education, certification
and professional experience.

***

Once the candidate list has been finalized, the information will be shared
with the US Membership as a whole – so they can review, ask questions and
vote. Those process details will be released in June to the US Membership.

Thank you,

ALL CALL: AAMST DPOTM Requiem

Friday, May 1st, 2009

They just put out a call for the DPOTM in Requiem, See below

Quote “Members,

Due to her commitments on a Regional level, unfortunately Nycci
Daniels has felt the need to step down as my AAMST DPOTM Requiem. I’m
sad to see her go, she was my first assistant and I think we worked
well together.

With the reset coming, I need to get a new assistant to handle Requiem
for me as soon as possible.

Duties will include:
-running proxies for Requiem in Dark Points, including (as necessary)
development of setting and NPCs
-reviewing and approving background applications
-advising the AMST DPOTM on the Requiem venue

Applicants should possess:
-Excellent working knowledge of the Requiem venue, both in terms of
setting and mechanics
-Strong work ethic and regular internet access, with the ability to do
a 48-hour turn around on email
-Ability to organize and multitask. I don’t require you to run three
proxies at the same time, but I need you to be able to organize a
queue of important items, and keep players abreast of your progress on
them
-Strong research skills. Don’t just rely on Wikipedia. Extra points
given to someone who is willing to actually hit their local libraries
for additional research materials.
-Very strong ethics. You’ll be in a position to review a lot of
character sheets and possibly private information, as well as the
workings of certain Global plot items. Please keep this in mind when
applying.

Please email applications to amst.dpotm@gmail.com and include in them
the following information:
-Name
-Cam Number
-DC and DST name and contacts
-IRL Resume or CV
-Cam Resume (citing at least 3 Cam references [including name, Cam #,
and email address])
-Statement of Purpose. No more than 1-3 paragraphs. Outline why you
think you’re the best candidate for the job. If you can tell me your
views on horror, the nature of the vampire story, and the Requiem
venue I’d be very, very happy.
